DNB Program

General Information on DNB Program

Diplomate of National Board (DNB) is a Post-graduate Master's degree same as an MD/MS degree awarded to Specialist Doctors in India after completing a three-year residency. DNB courses are run and the degrees are awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi, an autonomous academic body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to the candidates on successful completion of their postgraduate residency.

Eligibility

Selection as per counselling after NEET exams conducted by National board of examination, New Delhi.

Surgical Training

Wet Labs

We have a fully functional wet lab with microscopes, Phaco machines, wax eyes, instruments etc. It is available 24x7 for improving the student’s surgical skills.

SICS

SICS

DNB students are started on SICS hands on training in our camp OT from the first year itself along with Pterygium surgeries. Some other departments include:

DNB students are started on Phaco training in wet lab under proper guidance followed by hands on training in our camp OT during the final of their training.

Postings

Rotation in Hospital Departments

Rotational posting in General Ophthalmology, Cornea, Glaucoma, Retina, Uvea, Oculoplasty and squint, and Phaco-refractive.Students are also trained to manage emergency cases under the guidance of fellow under training during night shift duties.

Camps

Students are posted in eye camps as per the monthly schedule where they independently work-up the patients for Cataract surgery.

Charitable Hospital Postings

DNB students are posted twice a week to Charitable Hospital for performing surgeries and handling independent OPD

All DNB students have free access to the latest equipment / investigations and get hands on experience.

Laboratory

The in house microbiology lab gives a holistic approach in diagnosing infections,students are encouraged to understand the preparation of microbiology slides/ culture media.

Healthy and homelike meals are available inhouse canteen.
