The Glaucoma Service of Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital provides secondary and tertiary care to glaucoma patients both locally and regionally. Our spectrum of cases range from opinions on early detection of glaucoma to complicated and refractory glaucoma cases referred from both local and regional ophthalmologists.

Treatment modalities available at our hospital and at glaucoma department range from the latest topical antiglaucoma medications, laser treatment for angle closure glaucomas, antimetabolite augmented filtration surgery, combined phacoemulsification and trabeculectomy operations to Seton implants for complicated and refractory glaucomas. The service is also actively involved in various research projects including multi-centre trials.

We have equipment such as the Humphrey' Visual Field Analyser, Non mydraitic Fundus Photography, Optical nerve head digital photography, the GDx Nerve Fibre Analyser, the anterior segment Ultrasound Biomicroscope and the optical coherence tomography, Yag laser for iridotomy, Applanation and Non-contact Tonometers, Gonioscopy, Facility for TSCPC, Cyclocryotherapy, Laser deep sclerectomy. All these technologies aid us in providing optimal care in the evaluation, assessment and treatment of glaucoma patients.
