Community Outreach Activities
Shraddha Eye Care Trust is a charitable Eye Hospital situated in Padmanabhanagar, Bangalore is the charitable wing forms a vital link between the hospital and the rural masses. Community screening camps are organized in co-ordination with the voluntary organization. Patients are screened and brought to the free hospital for surgery. All the Opthalmologists, residents, fellows and paramedics participate regularly in theses outreach activities. The clinical load of community screening programs offers a wealth of training opportunities and helps to develop the post-gradauate students into excellent and skilled clinicians. This is a base hospital for the camp surgeries, which is conducted twice a week. The doctors and paramedical staff are posted on rotation between the free and paying hospitals to ensure a high quality of care.
Library & Conference Hall
Nethradhama Super Speciality Eye Hospital provides information through a wide range of literature on Ophthalmology. Case presentations, seminars and clinical meetings are held in the conference hall. 24hours internet facility is available for students

The Medical Records of the patients are maintained electronically on the hospital information database which provides updated statistics useful for research purpose and case records.
Postgraduate Training Programmes
Post-Graduate training is an integral part in Nethradhama Eye Care Model. It offers candidates excellent opportunities for developing their skills in a high volume clinical setting.
All post-graduate students will undergo training in a structured manner in each respective Speciality. They are trained to prepare full case sheets for presentation in the presence of senior consultants. The students are posted in OPD, wards and Operation theatres, and as a result, they are exposed to all facets of treatment pre-operative, surgical and post-operative. They are provided guidance in surgery and in using the hi-tech equipments and technologies. They are encouraged to participate in the various ongoing research projects of the institute and to present papers at ophthalmic conferences.
During the course, there is ample opportunity for residents to handle general ophthalmic cases independently and consult with the faculty of various subspecialties in related ophthalmic diseases. This enables them to draw upon the expertise of various specialists. They also have an opportunity to perform surgeries independently, and follow up on surgical cases.
Residents are also required to review the medical records of patients in the hospital and present a summary of the case history.
Seminars, symposium, workshops, didactic lectures, patient education programs, case presentations and CME are all part of the regular post-graduate teaching programmes. Candidate's performance is regularly assessed through theoretical and practical examinations by all individual departments. Log books are to be maintained by the residents. Candidates participate in the Community outreach programme by attending camps as part of their post-graduate training programmes.

How to Apply
Application form can be obtained from the office of Nethradhama superspeciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore. This application fee is Rs.500 /- postal charges as applicable.
Application form downloaded from our website should be enclosed along with a DD favoring "Nethradhama Hospitals Pvt. Ltd." For Rs.500/- towards application charges.
All the entries in the application form must be legibly written in the candidate's own handwriting.
The documents sent with the application form will not be returned. Hence only photocopies should be enclosed with the application. Original certificates should be brought to the interview.
Candidates, who are asked to appear for interview, shall bear the expenses for travel and stay.

Incomplete (or) wrongly filled applications and applications received after the due date will be rejected.
Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Working Hours
The hospital outpatient working hours are 9am to 9pm
Students will be posted in the Emergency department on rosters.
Reporting time for camps will be as per the intimation that will be sent to you.
Leave
During the course the postgraduate and fellowship programme students are eligible for 12 days of casual leave per year i.e. done day per month, as per the hospital rules. The course will be extended if the student avails a long leave.
Leave can be availed of, only with the permission from the HOD.
The students and fellows are allowed to attend one or two conferences depending on the duration of the course (State level or All India) during their course, with on duty permission, at their own expense.
Note
The Courses are, full time and no private practice of any kind either directly or indirectly is permitted. An undertaking of this rule will have to be given at the time of joining the course. Necessary disciplinary action, including dismissal from the course, will be taken if the course performance and code of conduct is unsatisfactory.
