Three year Ophthalmic training for National Board of Examinations

Selection to the above courses follow a formal application procedure, and an interview. The candidates are selected based on their ranking in the CET (Common Entrance Test ) examination conducted by the National Board and Interview. The results of the interview will then be intimated to the candidates by post. The list of selected candidates for DNB will be intimated to the candidates and the same will be available on the website also.
 
Eligibility
 
Candidates should have passed MBBS and Part1 Primary/ CET Certificate(Common Entrance Test-NBE)
 
Duration of the Course
 
Three years for primary Candidates/ Two years for Postgraduate Candidates
 
Fees
 
The candidates are required to pay the below mentioned fees every year
 
Training Charges: Rs.10,000/-
 
Library & Internet Charges: Rs.5,000/-
 
Stipend
 
First year: Rs.8000/-pm
 
Second year : Rs.9000/-pm
 
Third Year: Rs.10,000/-pm
 
General Information for DNB Course offered by the Institute
 
Eligibility
 

Candidates with MBBS degree from an university recognized by Medical Council of India  are eligible to apply. They should submit the degree certificate of compulsory rotatory internship, and also registration certificate from the Medical Council in original.

 
Selection
 
Selection will be based on their ranking in the CET (Common Entrance Test) examination conducted by the National board followed by an interview for primary candidates.

Post DO/ Postgraduate candidates will be selected by written test conducted by Nethradhama followed by an interview. The decision committee will be final
 
Calendar
 
The duration of the course is 3years. It begins in Feb/July every year.
 
How to Apply
 
1. Application form can be obtained from the office of Nethradhama superspeciality Eye Hospital, Bangalore. This application fee is Rs.      /- postal charges as applicable.
   
2. Application form downloaded from our website should be enclosed along with a DD favoring “Nethradhama Hospitals Pvt. Ltd.” For Rs.      s/- towards application charges.
   
3. All the entries in the application form must be legibly written in the candidate’s own handwriting.
   
4. The documents sent with the application form will not be returned. Hence only photocopies should be enclosed with the application. Original certificates should be brought to the interview.
   
5. Candidates, who are asked to appear for interview, shall bear the expenses for travel and stay.
   
6. Completed applications, along with 2 passport sized photographs with enclosures should reach the following address by 5 pm on the last date mentioned in the application form: The Medical Superintendent-Pg Courses, Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital, 256/14, Kanakapura Main Road, 7th Block Jayanagar, Bangalore-560 082.
   
7. Incomplete (or) wrongly filled applications and applications received after the due date will be rejected.
   
8. Application fees will not be refunded under any circumstances.
   

Working Hours

   
1. The hospital outpatient working hours are 9am to 9pm
   
2.

Students will be posted in the Emergency department on rosters.

   
3. Reporting time for camps will be as per the intimation that will be sent to you.
   
Leave
   
1. During the course the postgraduate and fellowship programme students are eligible for 12 days of casual leave per year i.e. done day per month, as per the hospital rules. The course will be extended if the student avails a long leave.
   
2. Leave can be availed of, only with the written permission from the Medical Superintendent.
   
3. The students and fellows are allowed to attend one or two conferences depending on the duration of the course (State level or All India) during their course, with on duty permission, at their own expense.
   
Note
   
The Courses are, full time and no private practice of any kind either directly or indirectly is permitted. An undertaking of this rule will have to be given at the time of joining the course. Necessary disciplinary action, including dismissal from the course, will be taken if the course performance and code of conduct is unsatisfactory.
   
Library
 
1. Students going for camps or out of station on leave cannot borrow the library books
   
2.

Journals or reference copies will not be lent out.

   
3. Audio visual material like tapes, cassettes, CD’s and slides are only for use in library.
   
4. Photocopying of library materials or printout can be taken by submitting the same to the librarian
   
Accomodation
 
For bachelors or single lady doctors the hospital will provide accommodation at nominal rates. Students with families will have to make their own arrangements for their stay.
 
Dress
 
All the doctors working in Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital should wear White aprons and identification cards.
 
Location
 
Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital will post its students in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) for training in Basic Sciences. KIMS will provide facility for lectures/demonstrations in Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-chemistry, Pathology, and Microbiology.
 
Basic Science Training
 
Nethradhama Superspeciality Eye Hospital will post its students in Kempegowda Institute of Medical Science (KIMS) for training in Basic Science. KIMS will provide facility for lectures/demonstrations in Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-chemistry, Pathology, and Microbiology
